Congratulations to Dan
Berman for placing 5th on the speaker tab in Imperial Open. Also, congratulations to LSE
LF (Leo Glasspool and Frankie Bennett) and LSE TK (Tiffany Khoo and Kaelan Ong)
for breaking to the finals in SDA Novices! Tiffany Khoo and Saskia Neibig were
also joint 4th on the speaker tab. Well
done to all the LSE teams who competed this weekend!
2. Novice Cup
The annual internal
Debate Society Novice Cup will took place this Saturday. The Novice Cup is our internal tournament providing a more easy-going environment for novices to get tons of constructive feedback and learn more about debating in competitive tournaments. A huge thanks to all our novice debaters who participated in the tournament, John Kay our amazing CA, and all judges and volunteers for helping this tournament run smoothly!
Above all, congratulations to Will Duffield and Dinesh Anthony Perera, the champions of the Novice Cup 2013! Here are the top 5 speakers of the tournament:

3. Tuesday Training Session
This week’s novice
training session was held on Tuesday. It was good to see a lot of our members attending the session and actively participating in our practice debate after the session!
4. Debate Society Hoodies
Rep the debate society
in fashion! The committee is currently looking into ordering our own Debate
Society hoodies. The hoodies will be grey zip available in sizes S, M, L, XL,
XXL. The Debate Society logo will be printed on the upper left chest. Estimated
cost will be £15-20 depending on the order number. Payments will be collected
once the order is set. If you are interested in ordering a hoodie, please
complete interest form by Sunday, 3 Nov.
5. Experienced Training Session Cancelled
There will be no experienced
training session this week on Thursday, 31 Oct. Go trick or treating!

Chennai was held on Tuesday this week. Congratulations to Abel Lam, Daniel Bramble (LSE A), Elizabeth van Lieshout and Jamil Mustafa (LSE B) for being selected to represent LSE at WUDC this year!
