LSE Novice Cup 2016


Last weekend saw Freshers and Post-Grads compete head-to-head in the LSE’s internal Novice Cup. Featuring an eclectic bunch of team names, the competition split into 3 rounds, followed by a final. 

Debates centred around prisoners’ rights, sexually assertive celebrities, and the conditionality of developmental aid. The finals’ motion, ‘THW prefer a world without sexual attraction’, was original to say the least, and led to brilliant speeches. The evening ended with a Guy Fawkes-inspired social, kindly hosted by Saskia Neibig.

Congratulations to all teams for taking part, the standard was impressive throughout, and a big thank you to all judges for their feedback and general wisdom. Here is a link to the final results, ranking teams as well as speakers:
