Lent Term 2014: Week 3

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to James Lo and Claudia Hyde for their performance at York IV over the weekend. A job well done to you guys! We are excited to hear many good news on LSE teams' performances at external tournaments

Here are the debate updates from week 3:

1.  Inner Temple IV
2.  LSE Open
3.  Tournament Sign Up

1. Inner Temple IV
LSE teams have represented the society at Inner Temple as speakers and judges at Inner Temple IV over the weekend. Congratulation to Team Bramantha (Daniel Bramble and Samantha Si) for breaking to the finals of Inner Temple IV! Daniel Bramble was also second on the novice speaker tab. Dan Berman also broke at the tournament. A job well done to all our members who attended Inner Temple to debate and judge. We are very proud of your performances!

2. LSE Open.
On 15-16 February, we will be hosting our flagship tournament of the year: LSE Open. We welcome all our members to come and help out during the competition.
LSE Open brings in many international teams who will need a place to stay, so please sign up as a crash host! This is a great opportunity to show the Debate Society’s hospitality and to return the favour to the institutions that offer crash to our own debaters at outside competitions. This is the biggest tournament that we host and brings in some of the best debaters in the world! We appreciate all the help we can get from members who can come down to do running and judging. Like always, we reward our volunteers with free dinner and wine in addition to two great socials during the weekend!

2. Tournament Sign Up
Sign up to Reading No-Notes Open, Leiden Open and Manchester IV by Wednesday, 29 January. Sign up form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rnCzzhpqSsxFfLdhtbc7sGEwIhBBkLZtfhmwedm_TAk/viewform
