The first novice training session will be on Tuesday, 15 October, 6:30PM in 32L.G03 (32 Lincoln’s Inn Fields). After the training session, we will be hosting a huge social in Parish Hall with beer pong, flip cup, and other non-alcoholic drinks! All our new faces!

2.IDEA The Big Animal Research Debate

On Thursday, 17 Oct, 6:30PM in CLM3.02, the society will be hosting our second exhibition debate, in coordination with IDEA’s The Big Animal Research Debate. The motion of the evening will be: This House Would Ban All Forms of Animal Research. We will be inviting some of our distinguished alumni and existing debaters to speak. Please RSVP at our Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/222288107939269/

3.Freshers’ and Postgraduate Representative Election

The freshers’ and postgraduate representative elections will be held in Week 3 on Tuesday, 22 October. We will be electing 3 freshers’ reps and 1 postgrad rep, who will all assist the main committee in the organization of LSE-run tournaments and events throughout the year. This is an excellent opportunity to get more involved in the society, meet new people and contribute back in your own way. If you are interested in running, send an email to lsedebate@gmail.com by 12:00PM on Wednesday, 16 October. In order to be eligible to run in the election, you must be present to help out at The Big Animal Research debate on Thursday, 17 October! More information will be sent to interested applicants.

4.SOAS IV

We now have one extra team spot for SOAS IV! If you've had some university level debating experience before and would like to attend the competition, please sign up at http://www.lsedebate.org/p/sign-ups.html. The team spot will be first-come-first-served!

Have a superb week!
